Day Trip to Zhongshan: Woodcarving

This day trip to Zhongshan in China’s Guangdong province is centred on the Museum of Chinese Architectural Woodcarving in the Ming-Qing Dynasties 明清建築家居木雕藝術館 (official guide) as it enters its 10th anniversary.* Prominent exhibits on display include the decorative wood-carved beams, corbels, windows, doors and in particular the miraculously-crafted bedsOur trip will also include a guided tour at Wan Fung Art Gallery 雲峰畫苑, as well as an educational visit to Hongbo Museum 紅博城博物館 to appreciate the different types of hardwood like rosewood, sandalwood and the precious golden nanmu wood.

Trip Itinerary
10am Ferry departs (HK to Zhongshan)
AM: Visit Hongbo Museum on arrival. Head to Wan Fung Art Gallery next. Lunch.
PM: Visit Museum of Chinese Architectural Woodcarving in the Ming-Qing Dynasties. Dinner.
8pm Ferry departs (Zhongshan to HK)
